ADVENTURE BASE CAMP: SATURDAY, JUNE 11TH

5:30 am Climb a Fourteener participants meet at Check-in Tent. At Base Camp on Hunter Street across from Gondola Plaza

8 am – 8:45 am Yoga Class for all levels with Aspen Yoga Society - FREE

8:30 am Meet your Outfitter Guides at the Outfitter Check-in Tent for guided adventures in Rafting, Kayaking, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Hiking/Trail Running, Climbing, Fly Fishing, Adventure Dog Workshops. See descriptions for details and pro athletes joining each group.

9 am – 2 pm Outfitter Led Activities. Lunch, transportation, gear included – except for road bikes

8 am – 4 pm Outward Bound Trail Restoration – FREE. Sign up at the Outward Bound Tent to help restore the Ute Trail on Sunday.

10 am – 11 am ACES Kids Nature Corner – Birds of Prey & Reptile Program with live owl and snake – FREE

11 am – 11:45 am Yoga Class - for all levels with Aspen Yoga Society - FREE

11 am – 12 pm ACES Naturalist Guided Hikes atop Aspen Mountain – FREE. Meet at the ACES desk atop Aspen Mountain. Must purchase Gondola foot pass from Gondola Ticket Office.

1 pm – 2 pm ACES Kids Nature Corner – Birds of Prey & Reptile Program with live owl and snake – FREE

1 pm – 2 pm ACES Naturalist Guided Hikes atop Aspen Mountain – FREE. Meet at the ACES desk atop Aspen Mountain

Must purchase Gondola foot pass from Gondola Ticket Office

2 pm – 3 pm Autograph signing with First Ascent pro athletes Melissa Arnot, the only Western woman to have summited Everest three times; Jake Norton, Everest guide and adventure photographer; and Ben Stooksberry, professional kayaker – FREE. At ACES Kids Nature Corner tent in Gondola Plaza.

2 pm – 5 pm Live Music Stage at Ajax Tavern featuring Colorado favorite band, Salem - FREE. Great food and drink specials

3 pm Adventure Dog Demonstration with Mike Stewart of Wild Rose Kennels. At Outfitter Check-In Tent on Hunter Street.

Join event hosts Outside magazine and Aspen Chamber Resort Association at Aspen’s legendary Sky Hotel for the “Outside in Aspen” kick-off party starting at 8 pm. Enjoy complimentary Patron cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, welcome gift bags, DJ entertainment, Dagger kayak demos, Celestron star-gazing, prize giveaways and more. It’s all happening at Base Camp, adventure headquarters for “Outside in Aspen”. Meet your guides and pro athletes at 8:30 am for activities from 9 am – 2 pm with Rafting, Kayaking, Stand Up Paddling, Rock Climbing, Climbing a Fourteener (this starts at 6am), Mountain Biking, Road Biking and Fly Fishing and train running. Check out Outside magazine’s Gear of the Year along with all the latest products and demos from Eddie Bauer/First Ascent, Oakley, Nuun, GoPro, Dagger, and other sponsors. Recover from your activities in the Birkenstock Recovery Lounge, star gaze with Celestron and mingle with pro adventure athletes, photographers and filmmakers. Also new this year is the Adventure Dog Workshop, Yoga Classes, music stage featuring Colorado favorite band Salem on Saturday from 2-5 pm, the Kids Nature Corner and much more.
